Fred is Executive Vice President and Creative Director at Vertigo Media Group. He is an internationally-recognized designer with over fourteen years experience and a cutting edge graphic design style. Prior to Vertigo, Fred worked for Austin & Williams Advertising as Senior Art Director. In his 12 years at the agency he sharpened his design skills and gained flexibility and versatility in developing campaigns for a variety of industries from boutique shops to Fortune 500 companies. Some of the clients he designed and concepted for ranged from big name banks to spas and catering halls to hi tech companies. He is grateful for having had the opportunity to work with and learn from the expertise of his father, CEO & President of Austin & Williams, and 40 year veteran in the advertising field. From the beginning of his training, when he received his Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, Fred's design stood out form the rest. His portfolio was rated top ten percent of his graduating class and he continues to produce award winning design. His work has appeared in prestigious design publications such as Graphis - New Talent 2000, as well as American Corporate Identity 2002-06, a "best of the best" logo design book. He has received 15 BOLI awards (Best of Long Island) since 1996 for logo, poster, ad campaign, brochure, website, package and CD designs.
Fred's happiest moments are times shared with his 10 year old son John, who in his words, is his "greatest gift and joy". As a loving father, Fred holds dear the importance of being a good role model and is humbled by what he continuously learns from being a father too. Fred says," It's the simple, little moments with John that I am blown away by. I love seeing how he sees the world around him. He is a constant reminder of the natural ability to see good in things and be present and playful." Fred is also just beginning the adventure of becoming a formal mentor through a local mentoring program where he looks forward to becoming a caring friend and guiding voice to another youngster.
Fred's work ethic and life philosophy are inspired by both his relationship with his son and by his experience serving proudly in the US NAVY as a Veteran of Desert Storm. Fred brings discipline, motivation, positivity, teamwork, playfulness, creative vision and a belief that there is something to be learned in everything and that all things are possible to his life and his work.
